I'm trying to import data using Salesforce Object Power BI Connector, I have visibility on the standard objects but can't seem to find custom objects. Is it possible to get custom objects using this connection? What connections should I look for if I want to get a custom object in salesforce?

Hi @pcc18 ,
Based on your description, you can choose the following configuration steps if you want to get custom objects in salesforce.
Select "Custom URL", enter it in the text box, and select "Production" to connect to the data.

Hi there,
One of the points that has not been mentioned, though may be of the interest of others trying to resolve this, is the following:
- Custom objects are supported with the built-in Salesforce connector in Power BI, but accessing them isn't always straightforward. The native connector uses the "Salesforce Objects" option (not "Salesforce Reports"), and custom objects do appear in the list, though they end with __c by convention. The most common reason is that people just can't find them or simply that they scroll past them in a long list.
- Another reason can be a permissions issue in Salesforce. Thus, make sure your Salesforce user profile has Read access to the custom object and its fields.
There is another way, though not native one, for this kind of export. ETL platforms or a dedicated Power BI Connector for Salesforce app (it can be found on AppExchange) can export all custom objects your Salesforce user has access to. Custom objects appear automatically grouped in a dedicated tab without any extra setup.
Hope this is helpful,
Anna
