SUm versus count en Q&A button

siguiendo el ejemplo de un libro, en un boton de Q&A hago la siguente consulta: "hours by location" y me devuelve el recuento de horas (no la suma). Para corregir el error y obtener la suma, el libro indica modificar la consulta a: "sum of hours by location" pero en mi caso obtengo el mismo resultado.

Hi @pboric  - Ensure that the "Hours" column is set to a numeric data type (e.g., Decimal, Whole Number) and not Text.If it's stored as Text, Power BI might default to count instead of sum.

Verify the Default Aggregation for "Hours":

  • In Power BI Desktop, go to Data View → Select the "Hours" column → Check Default Summarization (it should be Sum and not Count).

If Q&A is not recognizing the sum correctly, create a measure manually

eg: TotalHours = SUM('TableName'[Hours])
If "Hours" is in a separate table, ensure it has a proper relationship with the "Location" column. If there's ambiguity, Q&A might default to counting rows instead of summing values.

Click on Q&A Visual → Select "Teach Q&A" → Define "sum of hours" as a preferred interpretation for your dataset.

Hope these details helps.
