SUM total of multiple columns

I have a table like the one below, I am trying to get a new measure to get a total of talk_sec, wait_sec and dispo_sec.

I'm not familiar enough with either DAX syntax OR the available functions to know where to start.

Hi @MrPatrick

A simple measure like this should do the job:

Total Sec =
VAR SumTalkSec = SUM ( Table1[talk_sec] )
VAR SumWaitSec = SUM ( Table1[wait_sec] )
VAR SumDispoSec = SUM ( Table1[dispo_sec] )
VAR Result = SumTalkSec + SumWaitSec + SumDispoSec
RETURN Result

Best regards,

Martyn

@MrPatrick
Simple sum will do. Dax is similar to excel functions in essence.

total = SUM ( Table1[talk_sec] ) + SUM ( Table1[wait_sec] ) + SUM ( Table1[dispo_sec] )

Best,
Paul

Few ways.

Have a new column in table

new Col Total time = talk_sec+ wait_sec + dispo_sec

and then do sum

new measureTotal time = sumx(table,talk_sec+ wait_sec + dispo_sec)

new measureTotal time = sum(talk_sec)+ Sum(wait_sec) + Sum(dispo_sec)
