SSRS and Power on one Instance

Hi ,

I am new to Power BI and i have  on premises SQLInstance that hosts SSRS.

I am wondering if PowerBI can run in Pararell with SSRS  using the same Report Server Database.

Please advise if this is achievable.

Hi @Tawa- Running Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in parallel on the same environment with the same report server database is not achievable.

Migrate to Power BI Report Server: If you want a unified solution that handles both traditional SSRS reports and Power BI reports, consider migrating to Power BI Report Server. It allows you to run both RDL (SSRS) and PBIX (Power BI) files, but it would still require its own ReportServer database.

Side-by-Side Installation: If you need to run both services, you can install SSRS and Power BI Report Server on the same machine but using separate databases for each.

Thank you so much for a detailed response.

I will go with Side by side Installation for now just to get familiar ,then at a later stage i will switch to PBRS.

Many thanks
