SSRS and Paginated reports are same ?
Hi Team ,
I am power bi developer . Previously I worked with paginated reports . Now we got requirement to work on SSRS . I know report builder is updated version of SSRS. So my doubt is , is SSRS and Paginated reports are same ?
In Paginated reports we will connect data and build report and publish them to power bi service . In SSRS also process same ?
give me some information about this , thanks in advance .

They are not exactly the same. SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) is a reporting platform/server, while Paginated Reports are a type of report format (RDL) designed for pixel-perfect, page-based reporting. Paginated reports were originally created using SSRS tools and use the same RDL technology. The main difference is deployment: SSRS reports are published to an SSRS Report Server, whereas Paginated Reports are built with Power BI Report Builder and published to the Power BI Service (Premium/Fabric). The report design process in both is almost identical.

Hey! Great question. SSRS and Power BI Paginated reports are basically cousins, not twins.
You're spot on - Power BI Report Builder is the updated version of the old SSRS Report Builder.
Key differences:
Paginated: Publish to Power BI Service workspaces (Premium required)
SSRS: Needs SSRS server infrastructure, publish to Report Server

SSRS and Power BI Paginated Reports are very closely related, but they are not exactly the same product. But from a development perspective, the skills and report-building process are almost identical, but the deployment platform and licensing/capacity model are different.

SSRS development done in visual studio , data source connection and to publish what is needed and what are the costs of those- v-hashadapu
