Hi,
I'm using Power BI Desktop October 2017 edition, with SSAS Tabular 2012.
In the modelling tab , most of it is greyed out - I'm especially looking to use the data category buttons.
In the following link, it says this should not be the case for live queries.

The following thread suggests refreshing the data but that doesn't work. The last post in this thread seems to have the same problem as me back in July of this year. Any help most gratefully received!

Solved it meself with a bit of judicious forum searching. Apologies for clogging up the forum.
The answer is that all formatting has to be done in SSAS itself.
See this video for an example of how to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywaTxQKchx8
Or, if you can't be bothered... use the Data Category property in the column properties in SSDT.
@JT-DLPLC Per your title you are using a live connection. This disables the vast majority of the modeling capability in Power BI. If you want to add the "URL" data catagory you need to do that in the SSAS model. There are only a few modeling things you can do in PowerBI.
Thanks for your speedy reply - appreciated. Still very new to this Power BI malarkey.
