SSAS Tabular 2017 and detail rows expression
Hi All,
Hopefully just a quickie...
I've just installed a test instance of SSAS Tabular 2017 to test its new 'detail row expression' functionality. I set up a dummy dataset and it looks like detail row expressions drill through fine in Excel but not when connecting Power BI to the SSAS Tabular cube.
Does anyone else have experience with using detail row expressions in SSAS 2017/Power BI? Does it allow users to drill through to underlying record data on measures? Was hoping this might be the holy grail - e.g. the equivalient of drilling through to named sets in MDX.
Thanks,
Pbix

Hi Anonymous,
Afte research, it's a feature for SQL SQL Server 2017 Analysis Services. After test, I can reprodcue your scenario. It works fine in excel as picture1 shown.
While it's unsupported in Power BI to date. Please see it as picture2 displayed.
Please review this feature request and vote it. Project Team will consider it if more people need it.

Thanks for confirming. That's a shame - being able to drill through into detail of SSAS Tabular calculated measures would be a real benefit to users. I'm not sure why so few people have voted for this feature?
Are there any other alternatives to this for drilling through into detail of SSAS generated measures using Power BI?
Thanks

Hi Anonymous,
Power BI will become better after your support. You can click drill down to see different levels' value.
