SSAS MD Live connect - Cube language setting (Locale Identifier)

Hi,

 

I used Excel to connect to SSAS MD to build pivot tables using a connection string with the property  (Extended Properties="LocaleIdentifier=4105") to load the English data from our Cube managed on French and English.

 

I'm using Power BI Desktop and I'm not able to change the connection string or to find how I can specify this setting in order to load English data from the cube.

 

Any idea to solve this issue

    Hi Anas,

    In desktop, when we live connect SSAS MD, we can not edit query. The "Get Data" and "Recent Sources" goes gray, we can not editr the connect string like in excel, please review the ideas and comment them.

    You'd better setting language in SSAS, then live connect to data in Power Bi desktop. Or you can import the excel data into Power BI desktop, more details, please this article: Import Excel workbooks into Power BI Desktop.

      Hi,

       

      Thanks for your reply,

       

      The excel connected to SSAS MD with the live connection is not found and imported by PB Import function.

       

      I don't have access to SSAS setting to change settings and this the cube can also be used with fresh users.

       

      I need to customize the connection (edit connection's properties ) for each group of users.

       

      Any idea?
