Good day Forum
I am running into an issue. I want to be able to Dynamically set PowerBI reports to filter to the current month. My data source is a live connetion to SSAS MultiDimensional model. My cubes add calculated dimension members to the Date dimension for current month, Current Year, etc. I want to be able to use the calculated members as visual, page and report filters in Power BI. So far I have not been able to get these calulated members to appear in Power BI desktop. I have read that calculated dimension members are supported. I have looked at examples others have posted to accomplish this but for some reason mine do not. In the posts I have seen this wortk it looks like the calulations are pulled into a seperate dimension hierarchy and the hierarchy displays separately from the dimension itself.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
How were you able to resolve?
Does anyone have any other solutions outside of calculated dimension members to filter reports to current month values dynamically using SSAS MD models?
Have you tried using the numeric slicer that is in 'Preview' at the moment?
Go to Options -> Preview features -> tick 'Numeric range slicer'.
Add the 'Slicer' visualization to your page, with a Date dimension as field. Click on the downwards arrow that is on the header and select 'Relative'. Then set the relative filter to 'This - Month'.
