SQLDUMPER black screen then crash

Seems like there is a bug in Version: 2.70.5494.562 64-bit (June 2019)

On editing ther advanced query editor then switching to next query whilst background preview is running, Power BI crashes. HAs done this to me 5 times today already.  :-(

  • I am running into the same issue when I use the advanced editor or if I edit the query in the formula bar.  I am on version 2.70.5494.761 64-bit (June 2019)

    Hi xerxel ,

Please update Power BI Desktop to the latest version 2.69.5467.2151 , and try it again.

If you still have this issue for Power BI, you'd better create a support ticket in Power BI Support to get further help.

    Best Regards,

Hello, I have the same time-consuming problem with the August 2019 Version: 2.72.5556.801 64-bit.   This happens for example when I modify the file input method and consequencial steps of a long query in the advanced editor.  If there is something wrong, the whole pbix file crashes with the sql dumper.  It would be better that the query just breaks instead of crashing the whole program.   To avoid the problem, I am now having to recreate all the steps one by one, which is very annoying and slow, so hopefully you find a fix.

When will Microsoft resolve this issue?

It has been happening since 2017.
