SQL Query Folding - one Server two different Databases

Hi All,

My current situation, I have two tables one has Country and CustomerID with Sales in more than one currency. I merge this with a currency table from our server but that it is in another database (different database name).
In the documentation it is mentioned that Query folding will break if you merge with another Data source.
My question is then: Is another database table within the same SQL server another Data source? Therefore pushing me out of the query folding.
I would assume so, as it has different credentials. Honestly, I am not sure and I could be making a mistake.
Can someone share some light into this?

Thanks in advance,

Jorge

In short, yes, you may take a look at Determine when a query can be folded.
