I have a Sql Managed Instance with public endpoint enabled. Now when I try to connect it via power bi desktop, it fails with Public Endpoint whereas it works fine with private endpoint when connected to the VPN. Now my concern is I am not able to schedule a refresh in powerbi service of the dataset because powerbi service deosn't verify credentials in private endpoint. Please suggest!
Please you re-share the fix solution, I have the same issue.
Have you opened up the firewall to the Power BI Service?
Yes, it is open for all Azure Services. I am able to connect to SQL MI in ADF and Logic App.
Something which I observed is, for Azure services it only works with public endpoint but powerbi desktop connects only with private endpoint which in turn goes to powerbi service when we publish it. Now the problem is, we can't edit SQL server details on powerbi service. Any suggestions?
Hi @Anonymous,
I'm not so sure if the 'public' version azure MI endpoint is released to power bi connectors. Maybe you can open a support ticket to get further support from power bi team.
