SELECTEDVALUE() measure returns (empty) on one page but not the other

If have slicer (cross-synced across pages) that selects a user. A measure SelectedValue(Table1[User]) shows the selected value of the slicer on one page, but show (empty) on another. 

And I dont see why. There are no filters on the pages or visuals. There is a second filter synced across all pages (both the working on the non-working one) for a date range. The SELECTEDVALUE() for this slicer is OK on both pages.

Use Performance Analyzer to get the DAX code generated for both visuals and then compare them in DAX Studio. The differences in the code should point you towards the problem.
