Hey everyone,
We face the following issue:
We connected to SAP HANA using DirectQuery Mode, we selected the fields we wanted to use and we fill in a Fiscal Year/Period Prompt. So far no issues, we can build visualizations and publish it to PowerBi Service.
What we would like to do is edit the prompt values for Fiscal Year/Period once the first connection to the datasource has been made. So this is the prompt we selected in PowerBI (this is a screenshot from Analysis for Excel but we filled in the same prompt in powerbi):
We then go to Edit Query > Add Items. Here we can add new dimensions or measures and change prompt values. However, the prompts that we filled in before are not showing up in this list:
The empty red box is where the prompt should have been. Do we have to change this somewhere else? It has to safe those prompt values somewhere.
Also, when publishing this to the cloud the prompts are not coming through. We kind of expected that before it shows data, the user could fill in the prompt values as he/she sees fit. Apparently, this is not the case. Is some extra configuration necessary or is this something that is not supported right now?
Thanks a lot in advance for your suggestions!
Kind Regards,
Simon
Hi @temmermans,
It's hard to reproduce this without data. Could you please do some troubleshooting? Are the data only showing from 2017001 to 2017005 when you want to add items? If so, the data is filtered by that field, which would hide to avoid being changed.
Best Regards!
Dale
hi @v-jiascu-msft,
Thanks for the reply! Yes indeed, the data is only from between the date range entered in the prompt. This works fine, the problem is, how do we now change that selected prompt values (because it is now hidden, we can't anymore:( ) ?
Kind regards!
Simon
