SAP BW variable input not working

When i try to load a query from BW with optional variables i can't seem to enter any values:       It seems like everything i type in the input fiels gives me the 'Enter a List value' error...

    Hrmm i figured it out,

     

    If i put the variable fields in the query itself (the fields that are loaded). then a dropdown box appears

    Hi daanp

     

      Can you please share screenshot as how you have achieved it. Further, are you able to access bw reports via power bi that has mandatory parameter/variable selection like date,customer etc. in bex query designer for accessing ?

    Could you please share the details about how did you achieve it?

     

    I have an customer-exit variable in the RKF (in BEX) which is mandatory and needs to be populated in Variable Screen.

    Did you have something similar scenario?  Were you able to populate this field and run the PowerBI query ( sourcing from SAP BW Query)?
