SAP BW Connection error

I am trying to connect to SAP BW, but there is a message error:

Please pay attention to the fifth tip:
Make sure that Your Basis Administrator has disabled the Single Sign On option for your user account and enabled the Logon using Username/Password option.

Hi, yes I installed the connector. Do I need a VPN to establish a connection with SAP?
