'SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR' expects a contiguous selection

I am prompted this error when I try to go the next level of hiearchy with the visual below.

This is what the measure YoY % Change looks like:

And here is the data model that utilizes a common date table to connect to multiple fact tables:

Any suggestions why this will not work?
