Try Edit interactions in Format. And set interaction kind as Filter instead of Highlight.

SuchCT use play axis (dynamic slicer) visual from the marketplace and rotate thru different slicer values. Play Axis (Dynamic Slicer) (microsoft.com)

Thanks this would seem to be the answer, however when I implement it there seems to be some higlighted values while using the "Play Axis" that don't appear while selecting the same value manually.
It seems like the visual is highlighting some value instead of actually changing it. Am I doing something wrong?
