Ribbon chart data by date

Hello,

 

I made a ribbon chart with Volume in the y-axis and date at the x-axis. The figures look fine when i display 1 month's worth of data, but when i exceed more than 1 month's data, the ribbon chart adds together the volumes for the same days for all months (e.g., if i have May and June 2026 data, the ribbon chart adds up May 1 and June 1 data under the "1" data point in the x-axis). by this logic, the ribbon chart is also only showing 31 days' worth of data points. how do i show the unique dates across multiple months in the x axis of the ribbon chart?

    Hi rogelep ,

     

    This is happening due to date hierarchy. Power BI is automatically using date hierachy here. Can you confirm if you are using dates from the date table?

    If so -

    1. Take "DateTable[Date]" in your X axis of the ribbon chart. Do not choose hierarchy here.
    2. The X axis type should be countinuous 

    If this still doesnt solve issue, check the datatype for dates.

    Hi rogelep 

     

    I don't quite understand what you're trying to achieve. If you put date into the X-axis, the ribbon chart should be breaking down the changes by date.

    Hi rogelep,

     

    This happens when you use the date heirarchy as what InsightsByV mentioned.

    You can disable the heirarchy and just use straightforward the dates.
