Hello,
I have a ribbon chart but in order to turn on Gridlines, on the Visual tab, Gridlines is grayed out. It states "to use these formatting options, add a field containing date or numeric data to the axis section of the Visualizations pane".
The X-axis has Year, Month, Date while the Y-axis has record count, the Legend is Status. Does anyone know how to get gridlines showing?
Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi , @Anonymous
I test it in my side , i find that if you put the several Hierarchy fields on the "X-axis", the gridlines may not highlight display.
You can try to click "Drill Up" icon to see if the gridlines highlight:
Because the Month field do not meet the gridlines highlight need.
You need to add a field containing date or numeric data to the axis section of the Visualizations pane.
You can also put a filed like a number .
Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
Best Regards,

Hello Anyia,
Thank you for that clarification and quick response. Unfortunately all the X-axis fields are text (not numeric) so that makes perfect sense why the numeric gridlines don't show.
