Reusing Measures Across Repors

Question:

I would like to improve reusability in the data models, specifically DAX measures, columns, and tables. How can I reuse the semantic model across reports? I know there are a couple of options. Can I be recommended possible solutions currently being used?

I have come across the following possible options: Azure Analysis Services, Lakehouse/Warehouse in Fabric, and Golden Dataset in Power BI Service. The first two are too expensive, and the Shared Dataset seems like it will become too cluttered and difficult to manage, slowing down the reports.

Hi @akhaliq7 -For most scenarios, Golden Datasets in Power BI Service offer a balanced approach, providing reusability, governance, and cost-effectiveness.Dataflows add an extra layer of flexibility for data preparation, making them a great complement to Golden Datasets.Composite Models offer advanced reusability when working with complex datasets, though they require careful management to avoid performance issues.

By implementing a combination of these strategies, you can achieve a high level of reusability while managing the complexity and cost of your Power BI environment.
