Reuse Semantic Model Logic in Power BI
Hi, I’d like to ask about duplicating a semantic model in Power BI. Here’s my case:
I have two partner categories, Partner A and Partner B. Each partner has its own data source.
I’ve already created calculated columns and tables for Partner A, and now I want to apply the same calculations to Partner B. The logic of the calculations is exactly the same, only the data source is different.
How can I duplicate these calculations for Partner B without having to recreate everything from scratch?

This involves creating a parameter in Power Query to represent the partner name or data path, and then using that parameter in your query's source step. By doing so, you can dynamically switch between data sources without rebuilding your model. All calculated columns, measures, and visuals built on this query will automatically adapt when the parameter value changes.

If the table and column names are the same you can copy/paste between the reports. If you want a copy of the semantic model then save it under a different name.
You can save a copy of pbix containing the model and report rename it. That aside, why not use RLS? I'm thinking ahead here. Duplicating a model is one thing but trying to sync the changes between the two is another.
