Restrict access to Power BI Desktop application
CraigLockley I think with group policies you can control what can be installed or not installed. It is more of an IT issue than login in power bi desktop.
If you strictly want to know if power bi desktop not allowed to be used without login, I don't think there is any way to restrict that. I still cannot wrap my head around if software is allowed on a user destkop (not restricted) then what values it bring not to be used without login.

The easiest explanaition for why i'm looking at restricting an application to user-login credentials. Its simply a use case of a user circumventing controls to install an application (admin user shouldn't have installed it but did anyways) or application is installed on computer, and if workstation is shared. Then any user logged in can potentially still access Power BI Desktop as a sign-in can be by passed.
In Micrsoft Word, if my login is not attached to an O365 license and I don't have appropriate license, I cannot access word and edit files without a licensed O365 account. My assumption is Power BI Desktop should act in the same manner.
