Restrict Right in poweBI Online

Hello,

do you know if it is possible for the browser version that external users can only see a dashboard but not the report behind it?

Thank you and best regards,

Eva

Hi @evareply ,

If you don't want users jump to report from dashboard, you can try ways as below.

Scenario 1, If you have pinned tiles:

navigate to the dashboard --> click open menu "...." --> Edit detail --> set a custom link (could be any website) in this case when any user press the visual in the dashboard, it will redirect them to the custom link.

Scenario 2, if you have pinned a live page:

click open menu "...." --> Edit detail --> untick the first box "title and subtitle" now your users won't be able to drill down to the report, and they still can use the functionality of a report inside a dashboard.

The above two methods will be valid for all users neither internal users or external users. Power BI doesn't support us to only restrict external users to jump to reports from dashboards.

Here is a solved post with similar requirement like yours, I hope it could help you solve your problem.

Best Regards,
Rico Zhou

@evareply , To share with the external user you can use Azure B2B. Then there are quite a few permission that you can control under tenant setting in admin portal power bi service

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-azure-ad-b2b

setting keep on adding, this just for step reference
