Resize Group window

Good Morning Y'all,

I found  another post on this thread about the same issue from Jan with no resolution so I thought I'd try again.

Version: 2.144.878.0 64-bit (June 2025) - I did a clean install with the latest and still nothing.

My Group window is all funky and I can't resize it.  Alt + Space is greyed out.  This is the only application that has a 'pop-up' box that is like this.  I do have 3 monitors and I've adjusted the resolution on each monitor separately, but I'm coming here for other options.  It only did this recently and now it's stuck.  Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated as this sucks having to scroll left and right on this little box.

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @TMO_KY,

Thanks for raising this. The issue here is likely caused by a DPI scaling mismatch across your multi monitor setup. Please follow below steps:

  • Set all monitors to the same scaling percentage like to 100% temporarily, restart power bi and check the Group dialog again.
  • In the power bi properties change High DPI settings like set it to System(Enhanced) and Apply
  • Open the power bi on your primary monitor and open the Group dialog there.

If none of this helps, please consider submitting a bug by raising the Microsoft support ticket, as this may be a regression in the June 2025 build.

I haven't responded because none of the suggestions fixed the issue.  I've performed a clean install, resizing, short cuts and scaling.  I even tried using one screen with all the above first.

Hello @TMO_KY

Power BI's "Groups" window not resizing issue is likely caused by display scaling or monitor setup conflicts, especially in the June 2025 version. The problem happens when the window opens too small and doesn't allow resizing, even with shortcuts like Alt + Space. This can often be resolved by adjusting your monitor scaling to 100%, switching temporarily to a single monitor, or using keyboard shortcuts to manually move or resize the window. If the issue persists, clearing Power BI's UI cache or reverting to a previous version may help. It appears to be a recent UI glitch affecting pop-up behavior in multi-monitor environments.

Thanks
