Reset Visual Bookmark fails to reset Bookmark Navigator

HI

Problem: I have a bookmark navigator that switches between two available charts (hides ones, shows the other). I also have a button that uses a bookmark that resets all visuals, except slicers to there original state, this bookmark includes the bookmark navigator in its selected visuals . However, when pressing the restet button, it resets everything apart from the bookmark navigator which remains highlighted for the wrong visual.

This is easy to recreate, create a bookmark navigator, create a bookmark to reset the bookmark navigator. but it doesnt work.

anyone have any thoughts? for now i have just turned off updating the visual display, so atleast the charts match the bookmark

cheers

  • Hi DustRM - This issue occurs because when you apply a bookmark that resets your visuals, it resets them to the state they were in when the bookmark was created. However, it seems the bookmark isn't properly capturing the state of the Bookmark Navigator or there's a conflict with the way the bookmarks are interacting.

Please check the below solved thread, Hope it helps

    • Open the Bookmarks pane>>Click on the three dots next to your reset bookmark and ensure that both Data and Display options are checked >>The Display option controls which visuals are visible and their formatting, while Data captures the selection state, including the Bookmark Navigator.

Create a new bookmark with Data and Display options checked

Thanks, but this doesnt solve it

As i mentioned in my post, this can easily be recreated by simply creating  a new one, with nothing else on the page and it does not work.

      step 1: create bookmark navigator
step 2: create a bookmark that captures DataDisplay
step 3: select the navigator and update the bookmark
step 4: apply the bookmark to a button
step 5: change the navigator to something other than the "default"
step 6: press the reset button
      step 7: watch nothing happen

interestingly enough if you "view" the bookmark, it appears to work, but it doesnt when hitting the button
