Request for Architecture and Solution for Template Repository Portal in Power BI Platform
Hello All,
We have a requirement to create a Template Repository Portal using the Power BI platform, accessible via a URL. This portal will serve as a centralized location for displaying all predefined templates.
Note: Here, a template is a table with all the required fields with blank values. Below is a sample example of a template - Root Cause Analysis:
Key features of the portal will include:
- Users should be able to select a particular template from the portal.
- The selected template should open a form similar to the template.
- Users should be able to enter text into all the fields of the template.
- Users should be able to store their data.
- Users should be able to view the data they entered in the form.
- Users should be able to export the data into Excel or Notepad.
- Users can only see their data if they have filled out any form.
- Users should not be able to see other users’ data.
Could you kindly suggest the architecture and solution to achieve this requirement on the Power BI platform?

Hey Anonymous ,
the only thing I can tell you is that Power BI is not the proper platform instead, you should create this in Power Apps. Power BI is not meant to create solutions where users enter their data, Power Apps are.

I can not, because I'm a Power BI expert, but not good with Power Apps.

Indeed, as Super User said, Power BI is not suitable for data input and write-back, generally speaking, Power BI is imported into PowerBI as data after ETL, and then made various display reports.
