I needed to make several changes to a published report.
This included updates to the visualizations and the dataset. After I made my changes, I saved and went to publish // Overwrite my previous report that was loaded to the Workspace.
Few minutes later - I went to view the report from my saved URL and it was showing the old report. I navigated through the workspace to the Report and all of the expected changes were present.
I did a simple if statement in excel to check if the URLs were different, and they are.
Is there something I'm missing? I replaced the old report and dataset (I didn't delete it out of the workspace and then load another) but I have a new URL.
Not the end of the world, but not a great user experience as I have to get everyone the new URL. This is the 2nd time I've had to do this (different dashboards).
Appreciate the help!
Hi @JLemaire ,
Here I couldn't reproduce your issue. As far as I know, if you only republish your report instead of delete your report and dataset, your sharing url won't change. When your republish your report and Power BI refresh successfully, there should be only new report in Power BI.
Please make sure you publish the report to the same worksapce. And please make sure you didn't change your report name and this will make your report overwrite other report.
Best Regards,
Rico Zhou
