Hi All,
Something seems off with PBI Sept 2024.
I have been doing the same steps as per below for years.
Downloaded a report with conneciton
Made minor edits (with buttons, so can't use web)
Republish and get the error below.
If I delete and retry, then the new publish report has its OWN NEW schematic model despite it showing that its already connected to an exsiting one. This makes no sense.
I have cleared cache as I have seen in other cases.
Other than limiting development on the service, I have no way to get around this.

@DizHamilton I know it shows there is a connection already but you have to connect it again:
Transform Data -> Data Source Settings and then rebind it.

If my solution proved useful, I'd be delighted to receive Kudos. When you put effort into asking a question, it's equally thoughtful to acknowledge and give Kudos to the individual who helped you solve the problem. It's a small gesture that shows appreciation and encouragement! ❤

@DizHamilton this is indeed a bug and I saw this recently.

@DizHamilton I have seen this recently, reconnect the thin report to the semantic model again and then publish it.

@parry2k - Hi Thank you for your reply. I have tried (I think) that but I get "Direct Query Required". Via Get Data? , if so, then yes I have done this.
I can see in the lower right that there is indeed a connection already.
