Republish Over Existing Report WITHOUT REPLACING DATASET

I have a report called "Statistic" linked to a dataset called "Statistic" (same name)

So, there's a warning saying "replace the report and the dataset". I'm not allowed to replace the dataset.

I try to modify the dataset name (rename dataset) to "Statistic dataset" and replace the report. In this case, the old version stay instead of the new one. It doesn't run.

I know its possible to publish the report with a new name, but I don't want because i have a lot of users with a direct access icon they would have to modify. I'd like to replace the report (and not the dataset as warning says) and avoid communicate all the community to change the link.

Is there any solution for that?

Thanks!

Use ALM Toolkit to update the meta data separately from the data, or edit the report in the Power BI service.
