Hi all,
We're planning a system below:
Requirements:
- Sales reps want to know their own sales charged with least effort.
- Sales data is updated everyday.
- Sales data should be pushed to sales reps, which means sales reps shall not go to the portal or PowerBI pages.
Plan:
#1 and #2 will meet the requirement above.
#1. Provide PowerBI report with RLS to filter the sales data related to sales reps without operating slicers themselves.
#2. Everyday, automatically email or Teams chat to sales reps the PowerBI link.
so that sales reps just need to
view the emails as everyday routine, find the sales email and click the link and see their own sales(not others').
- emails can be substituted by Teams chat
- graphs could be embedded in the HTML mail instead of sales reps' clicking the links.
We understand #1 is possible, but is #2 possible, too?
Any help or suggestion or alternatives welcome.
Regards,
Shinya

Hi @shtak,
Yes, it is possible to automatically email or send Teams chat messages to sales reps with a Power BI link. Here are a few suggestions:
Use Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) to create a flow that triggers every day and sends an email or Teams message to the sales reps with a link to the Power BI report. You can also embed the report in the email or Teams message if you prefer.
Use a third-party service like Zapier or Automate.io to automate the process. These services have pre-built integrations with Power BI and email/Teams, so you can set up the automation quickly and easily.
If your organization uses SharePoint, you can embed the Power BI report in a SharePoint page and set up an alert that sends an email or Teams message to the sales reps every time the page is updated with new sales data.
Hope this helps!

Hi Issac,
Thank you for your kind, precise and as many as three pieces of advice!
Yes, three of them seem to work.
I have come up with another idea which is
implement RLS on PowerBI report and use subscription to send reports by emails.
We need to define a distribution list, which contains the receivers' addresses, on our mail server.
Best Regards,
Shinya
