Report takes a parameter and involve that parameter to the calculation and show the result report

Hi there, I'd like to implement this requirement.

Step 2 is an input box. This needs to be a parameter.  This data is from manual input.

When this parameter is taken, I give it the name "total_hours" (second photo) in the Report - Fields.

I need to combine this value - total_hours and the data from another table to divide this total_hours.

My question is

1) Is this doable with the PowerBI parameter feature?

2) Any other approach?

3) How to implement it?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, @dongchen

Yes, you can achieve it by using the feature 'what-if parameters' in powerbi. You can get the value using the automatically generated measure. I think this is the best and most convenient way.

You can follow the steps:

Use what-if parameters to visualize variables - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
