Helper IVReport Builder Unable to Connect
Hi there,
I've seen similar issues on here but I've read through the other posts and tried the suggestions, and nothing is working. I am brand new to paginated reports/report builder, but I am trying to connect it to a data set that I already have published to the PBI Service. The initial connection goes fine - I have the name appear in my data sources.
The issue is when I pull up the query editor and try to connect to a data set. I get an error that says -
Unable to connect to data source 'NameOfDataSourceHere'. Please verify connection properties, credentials, and all needed 64-bit versions of data providers are correctly installed.
Then there are two options - Ok, or Details. If I click OK, it prompts me to enter credentials. I've tried every credential I can think of, none of them make a difference. It isn't my PBI login, my company login, etc. If I click "Details" it says 'Error 403 - Forbidden. The connection either timed out or was lost'.
This is for a report that I am the creator of, so I should have whatever credentials are needed. My IT department hasn't touched PBI paginated so we don't know what to do.

You need build permission for the dataset when you connect to the dataset from report builder.

Is there a way to check if you have build permissions? My IT department swears up and down that I have been granted build permissions to that workspace.
