If I rename a published semantic model (on my workspace), will the associated paginated report still work? Or do I have to rebuild the connection, query, parameters, martices and expressions?
(I have it all built, but named it draft names, like v4. The same semantic model is used for 2 paginated reports. And now I need to give it a professional name. Do I have to redo creating the 2 paginated reports because the source they are looking for has a different name?)
thanks

Hi @hogank45 ,
After you updated the name of Power BI Dataset, it will display the following pop up window when you open that paginated report again.
It need to update the data source in paginated report manually. You can follow the steps below to update the data source info and republish the report.
1. Update the data source settings in the paginated report to reflect the new dataset name
2. The datasets which are created base on the data source will change the updated data source automatically. Please verify that each dataset within the report is still connected correctly and that the queries are functioning as expected.
3. Save and republish this updated paginated report
Best Regards

@hogank45 I agree with @danextian. I think so too you need to change the connection setting as per new semantic model file name.
How do I do that? Do I have to redo the entire query and the parameters and rebuild the matrix? or is there more to do in the tablix properties? HOW do I rename it, step by step? Can microsoft provide some instructions?
It's been a while since I created a paginated report but check if this helps
Hi @hogank45
I don't know a paginated report, but when I renamed a semantic model, I had to reconfigure the semantic model used by my live connection reports in the data source settings, as well as those connected to the semantic model via DirectQuery.
