Remove drop down in matrix for selected line items

Hi All, 

I am trying to create a down drop + function in my matrix table, similar to what excel has in the Group function. Ideally, it would have been great to be able to just select certain line items to be in a group (like excel) but i understand i have to put these line items in a hierarchy as i did below. 

The issue here is that the line item "Claims" has no sub hierarchy and i would like it to not have the +. Is there any way to do this?
