Reminder Email based on Date
I currently have an excel file with rows containing tasks that are each assigned to a person, along with a due date for that task.
I want to notify the owner of each task when they have 7 days remaining til the due date of their tasks.
Are alerts via PBI service the best/only method? I understand you must use KPI, Cards, or Gauges.
Ideally, would like to automate so the spreadsheet owner does not have to manually notify each task owner.

If you want to send emails as you described, you should use power automate.
Check this article about using power automate in power BI it might help you or give you some ideas on where to search.
