Hi all - I have 3 tables: Table A, B and C.
Table A relationship to Table B is 1:1 on an employee ID
Table B relationship to Table C is 1:1 on employee email
ISSUE: When I use data from table A and table C, visuals do not affect each other (Selecting data on 1 visual does not filter another)
Can someone help me understand the relationships between tables? I would've thought that if the tables are related, with Table B acting as a "middleman" table, then when I use data from Table A and Table C I would not have issues with filtering visuals.
Are you seting your table relationships to bi-direction? If not, then you should set it for both relationships.
Relationships have direction, if you only set it to single direction, A to B. Then you can only filter table B by table A.
Do you mean cross filter direction? If so, it's set to Both by default for each relationship.
Hi @EricC
You are right. With Table B acting as a "middleman" table, Table A should be able to filter Table C if the cross filter direction is correct and the relationship is active. Can you provide some sample data or sample file? Or you could refer to this article (Model relationships in Power BI Desktop) to learn more about relationships. In addition, which visuals do you use to filter?
