Relationship to selected year

I want a table to filter on all the rows that contain a date in the selected year or the maximum year if no year is selected in another visual.

 

Whilst it is relatively simple to get the Selected Year:

 

Selected Year = CALCULATE(MAX(Dim_Date[Year]),ALLSELECTED(Dim_Date[Year]))
 
Applying this at row level shows the year for that row:
 

 

I want to override row context here and use the selected year as a constant so I can compare the row year to the selected year.

 

Ideas appreciated

    Good day all. I am new to Power BI and i just re-installed the app which i had earlier this year. Once i close the welcome page my screen remains white. Nothing seem to be visible. Please anyone with a way out of this?

      I think you are posting in the wrong place.  You are replying to a different topic.  Nevertheless, if you are talking about Power BI Desktop, you would expect to see a blank screen until you create some visuals or open an exisiting Power BI file.
