Relationship editor with Jan / Feb 2025 release

Is there something wrong with the relationship editor in the latest releases of desktop?

I am trying to enable a relationship, which I had in place previously in this model, between a column with unique values and no nulls, and another table with 0-N values. I should be able to enable a 1 to Many relationship between these two tables where 'Agent Work' is on the one side and Table B is on the many. However when I try to create the relationship it acts like it is doing it, but then the relationship doesn't actually become available. If I change the cardinality to many-to-many, it will actually create the relationship for me with the warning about many/many relationships. If I try to change back to 1 to many, it acts like it will do it, but the change cannot be applied. If I delete the relationship and try to recreate it, the editor detects 1 to many and validates, but cannot save it. There is no error. The column is all unique and has no nulls.

I can create a bridge table between the two using the distinct function - and can create a 1-to-1 relationship between the bridge table and the original. I can also create a 1-to-many between the bridge table and the other, but I am prevented from activating it. I am still unable to create an active relationship between both.

I tried disabling any other relationships to the table (all one-to-many, down-filtering 'Agent Work') and then I was prevented from re-enabling them. They had been present and functioned correctly previously.

I have observed this behavior in some models I have worked on, and have seen this behavior with other team mates on different semantic models - it looks like it is going to build the relationship, but doesn't and provides no error.

Did something change? Are others facing this? is this a bug?

I have used the sample data as suggested in your scenario. I was able to successfully create a one-to-many relationship and I am getting the expected results. I have attached the PBIX file for your reference

  • Any answer on this one? I am having the same issue. Relationship is not being stablished between the tables knowing there is one to many relationship with no nulls in either of the tables.
