I'm new to Power BI and trying to figure out how to utilise relationship data between 2 csv's and would appreciate it if someone here can assist.
Example:
I have a CSV file with computer IP addresses on them, eg 192.168.1.101 and another CSV of all the subnets that we have, eg Office: Australia, Subnet: 192.168.1.0/24
Query:
Is there a way for me to link the 2 csv's together and have Power BI display which Office the computer belongs to?
Hi @it,
I agree with vanessafvg's point of view, you can take a look below formulas if it suitable for your requirement:
1. Table.Join function(Power query)
StepName= Table.Join(table1, key1, table2, key2, JoinKind.Inner)
2. NATURALINNERJOIN Function(DAX)
MergeTable= NATURALINNERJOIN(<leftJoinTable>, <rightJoinTable>)
Regards,
Xiaoxin Sheng
in power query you can merge the 2 tables on the IP (as long as there is a match) and make sure you bring through the computer name when you merge them
or in the data model in power bi, create a relationship between the 2 and then return the computer name in the visual of your choice
