Relate tables

Hello everyone! I am new to PBI and need to relate tables so that a filter can filter me by date and year.

Example: I have the filter with a data from sheet 1. Place a relation of sheet two with sheet 1 in the month field, but wanting to make another relationship with the Year field does not let me.

Try to create a new sheet where only this year to see if I could relate them so but it does not let me do the relationship either. Could someone help me with this please.

Hi @jalbornoz ,

First, only one relationship can be set to be active between two tables. You can review the following official documentation to get more details.

Create and manage relationships in Power BI Desktop

And the following links are the threads which has the similar problem as yours, you can refer them to solve it.

Can't create a direct active relationship

Make sure you are not creating a relationship loop or two paths. Like A- B and B- C also Have A-C this means two path. Also if both A-B and B-C are M to M bi-direction then it will create a problem.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-create-and-manage-relationships

You can't create a direct active relationship between A and B because that would introduce ambiguity

If the above one can't help you get the expected result, could you please provide the involved tables, connected fields between the tables and relationship info etc. ? Also please provide your final expected result, then we can check if there is another workround to get it instead of creating relationship. Thank you.

And It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. You can refer the following link to upload the file to the community. Thank you.
