Refreshing PBI dataset using Power Automate

Hi There, 

I am trying to refresh data in PBI report using Power Automate. I have inserted a Power Automate flow but it does not refresh the data as reflected on the data source (excel sheet). 

Where as when I use PBI desktop app Refresh button in Home it refreshes the dataset and reflects it in the PBI report. Seeking help here if some one can help me how to refresh data set using Power Automate.

In addition, is the excel file stored locally or in the cloud? If it is on-premise, you need to install and configure a gateway first. Please note that keep the gateway online. Then add the source to the gateway . You can refer to the following document to complete the above operations.

Configure scheduled refresh

Install and register gateway

Add gateway data source

Thank you for your solutions. I tried them and the gateway solution worked only when I moved the data source(xlsx) file from local drive to sharepoint. However the power App solution did not work.

Hi @amitchandak Thank you for your feedback. I have tried both of these solutions in the past and they dont work. Not sure if its because my excel file is not on one drive or sharepoint that could be causing refresh not to trigger.
