Refresh table size doesn't match input file size

I have a report that combines files from a folder. Currently there are 7 files in each of the 3 folders and each file has 1 sheet.

Info on the files are as follows:

 

Header = 5622 rows- total combined file size = 1.43mb

Item = 16816 rows- total combined file size = 4.25mb

Tax = 16816 rows- total combined file size = 2.79mb

 

when i refresh the data in power bi it takes a long time to process and as shown in the screenshot below the size of the tables shows as large GB's.

 

Does anyone know why this is and how to prevent it?

    forster-sg , do not compare this size with the size of your file.  this not the file size.

     

    Also, remove any unnecessary columns in DAX /power query and steps in power query.

    Those increase the load time

     

    You can increase Data Cache (Make sure enough RAM Is there it is free)
