Refresh semantic model data and report

Hi,
I'm just starting out.
I've connect powerBI desktop to a sharepoint list. It's possibile to create a report/dashboard that when I insert a new record in sharepoint automatically refresh the report/dashboard?It's necessary that the client where I've installed powerBI desktop is online/turned on?

Thank's

  • Hi gr84

The process of refreshing can work automatically after the publishing to the service.
You will need to create a power automate flow.

From the second minute, it is a tutorial to refresh

  • If you open the semantic model, the refresh history is in the refresh dropdown - that will tell you if the refreshes are succeeding or not (if it's succeeding but the data isn't updating, check the report filters):

      Thank you christinepayton Ritaf1983 ,

I created with power automate a flow with the action "Update a dataset" but after the update in counters, graphs and tables are not available latest information. Why?

Did the refresh succeed? Check the latest refresh date in the dataset refresh history. You need to have your credentials set in datasource settings too.

You would need to use a Power Automate flow that triggers on new items created in the SharePoint list (there's an action for "refresh a Power BI dataset") - but note that it's limited to 8 refreshes per day for Pro licenses. You do need to have it published to the serviec to do this as well.
