Refresh fails - container exited unexpectedly with code 0x0004743 & netFX45.exe hard error

Hi,

Automated refresh has started failing on 11th/12th of September (used to work fine via personal gateway).

I have downloaded a desktop copy of the report and tried running the update manually, however, two errors have occured:

1. Within Power Bi Desktop, the main query has failed with: "container exited unexpectedly with code 0x0004743"

2. netFX45. exe has crashed with "unknown hard error"

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Hi, thanks for the reply, however, this did not work. I managed to run it on my desktop pc (I increased cache size and limited query dependencies in the report options), however, the solution is based on web source and keeps failing on cloud:

Last refresh failed: Thu Sep 20 2018 11:06:04 GMT+0300 (Eastern European Summer Time)
The last refresh attempt failed because of an internal service error.

I am getting the same error on something that used to work before, not sure what is going on!

I think this is Microsoft/Power Query cloud issue - it cannot handle larger, XML-based queries.

I am not sure how direct web-query is linked to Power Query performance on Power BI cloud, but I managed to solve it by retreiving XML from a web-based source onto a server (used native windows Task Schedule to run Python script to retrieve data from web and write an XML file) and then linked Power BI updates to the stored file on a server via personal gateway.

I believe the Cloud service has an issue, too.  My queries used to run fine and suddenly stopped working, and the Power Bi Desktop version is not working either.  I have an older version of the installer and everything works fine in there, but once I try to publish it to the Cloud service it fails, even the simpliest dataset.  I am just going to wait for it to get fixed.
