Refresh error message flashes up and disappears - unable to solve problem as no query error is shown

My desktop data refresh fails and a set of error messages appears - 'Loading blocked by failures with other queries'. Not unusual. What is new is that the Refresh window disappears and I am unable to see which query or queries have caused the error. You can see a 13-second video of the refresh window disappearing here.

Further investigation shows that each query in the list shows the same error ('Loading blocked by failures with other queries'). No query shows a specific error that I can investigate and fix. In Power Query Editor I'm able to refresh each individual query with no problems no errors appear anywhere for me to follow up on.

Refresh errors are not unusual and I normally know how to investigate and fix them, but this one has me stumped. Would anyone have any ideas regarding further troubleshooting avenues I could try?
