Refresh does not work - Troubleshooting

Hi

My refresh of my dataset in PowerBI desktop is not working currently:

- my file size of the pbix-file is 67MB; 64GB of RAM

- Power BI is updated, downgrading to the October 2021 version did not improve anything

- my sources include both Excel files and ODBC access

- the source settings, including credentials, are set correctly, the excel files can be opened without credentials

- running as administrator does not improve anything

- the file paths of the sources are accessible on the device.

 

No refresh is possible, the process just stalls when it says "creating connection in model ..." for each source. Not even the excel files are refreshed. How do I troubleshoot this problem?

Hi  @centroid ,

I would recommend uncheck the following options in Power BI Desktop and then refresh your data model.

Please check if any blank column from excel(your data source) is loaded into Power bi.
