Record and apply measures when importing new data file

Hi,

I have created measures in a data file, and basically every quarter i will import a new file with the exact same format.

Do you know if i can automatically apply the measures created for the first file to this new file ?

Thanks

Couldn't you just refresh the dataset after you overwrite the original file with the new file since you say that it's in the same format, just more data (rows) added onto the original file?

Pretty sure you could preserve measures in that way...

hi,

to make it simple I created an intermediate file to gather my data from the different files and have a single file as database which enbale me the automaically apply the measures when updating with new data !

Thanks for your answers,

@edgar_crz

No matter you create those measure within data file or in Power BI Desktop, it's not supported to directly copy or "transfer" those created measures even they are in same format.

If you create those measures in Power BI Desktop, you can manually copy the expression of measure to create new one. If the measures are created in you data file, they are imported as columns, you can never use them in your new dataset.
