Really strange issue - Merge of Query

Goodmorning everyone,

I've been using Power Query for 1 year now ...

However, something has been happening that I do not explain.

I'll explain the scenario by points:

  • I have 2 tables (which we will call 1 and 2 respectively) with a large amount of data and calculations, so much so that with an I9 cpu it takes 1 minute to update
  • The two tables have the same initial data source, List of time card readings.
  • Table 1 and Table 2 are linked by a unique key with the same columns, having the same data source.

However, doing the query merge does not report the values correctly, the absurd point is that if I do the same operation with  VLookUp into Excel the function works!😶

I did another test that "upsets" me a little ...😓

I copied and pasted Table 1 as values, then reloaded it as a table in powerquery.

  • So now I have into PowerQuery Table 1 (from where I report the data in table 2 incorrectly) - Table 1A (identical to Table 1 with the only difference that it has no calculations but only the result) - Table 2 (the table where I'd like to have the value insered into Table 1 orTable 1A)
  •  Well, if I do the same Query Merge operation from Table 2 to Table 1A, instead of from Table 2 to Tabel 1, this time it doesn't throw me any error.
  • REMEMBER-->Table 1 = Table 1A there are no differences of any kind, not even in the formatting of each single column, the only different is related to the fact that there are previous query steps before the result in Table 1.

Do you know if there can be any bugs, problems that I could run into that justify such behavior?

Hard to answer without seeing the code.  Remember that Power Query is case sensitive.

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

Yes, I know that the language is sensitive to case sensitive, but the two tables are the same, identical.

No Idea?

show a sanitized version of the code that illustrates the issue.
