Read values from table no Dax calculations

Hi have aggregated and calculated my percentage in a table in my Datasource.  I would like to apply a stacked column or visualization on top of this without applying any dax calculations.  For instance when I load the data into a table I have the option to 'Don't Summarize'; however, when I use a visualization a dax count or summarize are applied and I can't just show the value as is from the table.  Is it possible to do this?

  • Hi Anonymous ,

When using the visuals on the Power BI the summarization is based on the type of data you are using and on the visual itself, so if you are making a stacked column chart by default if will sum or count your values because it's the natural behaviour of placing values on this type of visual.

However to what I can understand you are getting the count of the information believe that this is because of the type of data you are using, is the column in question format as text or as a percentage?

If it's text obviously you cannot use it in your chart on other way than counting if it's a % then try to use the summarization of average or max / min.

Can you share a sample of your data so I can help you better to achieve your result?

    Regards,

Thanks MFelix after playing around some more with my dataset I was able to accomplish what I wanted.  I think as a newb, I'm thinking of the data in the visualization the wrong way and need to educate myself on how visualizations work with calculations.  I appreciate your response it was accurate and helpful
